The world-famous Top Hat 25′ needs no introduction. They are a safe, capable and economical Blue Water cruiser known for their seaworthiness.
Top Hats were made famous when the book “Two In A Top Hat” came out. It was written by a young family that circumnavigated the world leaving and returning to Sydney. I’ve recently heard about multiple single-hand sailors who have sailed around Australia on their Top Hats – and they love them.
It’s easily sailed single hand and is very forgiving. Sails are able to be reefed easily and the headsail is on a furler. There is a safe and weather protected cockpit with tiller steering with all lines (ropes) coming back to the cockpit.
While the boat is 25 feet in length, it feels bigger as the designers (Illingworth & Primrose) have thought of clever space-conscious ways to maximise every corner. Down below, you will find storage spaces everywhere for food, clothes and tools.
There is standing headroom throughout, and the sleeping bunks are designed for tall people
She has an enclosed head, galley with sink and 2 burner metho stove, a generous v-berth plus a well maintained inboard diesel shaft drive.
If you are looking for a pocket cruiser at an entry level price then this boat will not disappoint.
